I’m in my 40s. I know what it’s like to have thyroid issues, experience hormone changes, and think you should be able to figure it all out yourself.
I’ve always been active and eaten healthy. Like many women, I thought getting the look I wanted meant more cardio and less food. That clearly wasn’t working. My hair was falling out. I was bloated, puffy, exhausted, and my libido was nonexistent. The harder I tried, the worse I looked and felt.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and given medication, but I still had symptoms and a whole lot of unanswered questions.
I wanted to understand why I felt so bad when I thought I was doing everything right. That sent me down the functional nutrition rabbit hole. Years of under-eating, overtraining, too little sleep, and asking too much of my body had started to add up. It was more complex than that, but these were important pieces no doctor had ever discussed with me in all my years of appointments. Addressing them was a big part of my transformation.
My nursing background is another big part of why I’m here. I spent years caring for people with chronic disease and saw how much lifestyle can contribute. Poor nutrition, too little sleep, high stress, being sedentary, and not having enough muscle compound over time. Eventually, the body says “enough.”
I wanted to work on the prevention side and help people take a more proactive role in their health before reaching that point.
I don’t expect you to change everything overnight. We start where you are and work on changes you can actually keep doing. But you do have to be willing to do things differently. I can help you figure out what needs to change and how to put it into practice. You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
